Paleo Slow Cooker Recipes

This collection of paleo slow cooker recipes will grow as the days turn colder and we head further into winter. If you sign up to our newsletter, we'll send you an up date a couple of times a month.

There is really nothing better than coming home to the smell of a warming stew, or casserole, all ready for you to tuck into.

Our slow cooker or crock pot is very battered and worn having travelled with us in our camper van in 2012. It was an absolute boon then, and it is definitely one of the best buys we have made in recent years.

The Wonders of Slow Cooking

Using a slow cooker is a great time saver for busy families. Yes, you still have to prepare the ingredients, but it's a job you can do the night before to save yourself time in the morning.

I'm very big on the creation of memories through food - you can read more about this in our paleo ice cream e-book - I honestly don't think you can beat the smell of home cooked food as you enter the front door after a long day at work or school, or even after a bracing winter's walk. It is truly like being welcomed with a big hug, and I'm absolutely certain that these are the sorts of moments that will provide fabulous memories for your family in years to come.

Slow cooking is so easy - just throw a load of ingredients into a pot and leave it for 5 or 6 hours. The slowness of the process will make even the toughest cuts of meat into a melt in the mouth dish. As the most economical cuts of meat are generally the cheapest, this is a brilliant way to eke out your food budget, plus the energy consumption of these cookers is much less than that of the oven or stove top. It's practically  money in the piggy bank.

If you don't like the idea of leaving an electrical item on all day whilst you're out at work, then why not grab yourself one of these incredible Wonderbag slow cookers? Simply bring your dish up to the boil on the stove top then pop it into the bag and leave it to cook in the same way you would a slow cooker, but without the use of any fuel! An absolute boon of an invention in these days of rising fuel prices. I wish we'd had one when we were travelling in our campervan.
